BUDWEISER TO SOUTH PACIFIC PORTFOLIO

SOUTH SEAS DISTRIBUTION, the South Pacific division of F&S, added a major brand to its portfolio by winning appointment as the new, exclusive distributor for Anheuser Busch in several South Pacific Islands. Initial contracts are for American Samoa and (Western) Samoa. SSD expects to add Fiji, Tonga and the Cook Islands in the near future.

Based in Pago Pago, American Samoa, SSD distributes alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, tobacco, snack foods, health & beauty aids and consumer goods. SSD has been the exclusive distributor for all the Grupo Modelo products for the Islands for several years. The addition of Anheuser Busch products gives SSD the 2 top selling imported beers in the Samoas.

"The addition of Anheuser Busch products will require that we increase our infrastructure to handle the increased volume of business. Initial sales are expected to be 1000 - 1500 cases per week", forecasts South Seas General Manager Ned Trippe.

Susing Alivia, Regional Manager for SSD, is particularly pleased with the new business. Twenty years ago, he launched Budweiser in the Samoas. Now, he will oversee the re-launch of the brand and its promotion and advertising in the islands.
